About

Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where a few of us kept recommending games to each other and arguing about them. At some point we figured we might as well write it all down properly, so here we are. There's no big publisher behind this — just a small team that actually plays what it covers.

We pick games by casting a wide net. Some come from app store charts, some from reader suggestions, and a lot from just poking around to find things that aren't on everyone's radar yet. We try to cover different genres on purpose, because a puzzle fan and a strategy fan rarely want the same thing.

Every review means someone on the team spent real time with the game — usually several sessions over a few days, so we catch how it feels after the novelty wears off. We note the controls, the pacing, how fair the progression feels, and whether we actually wanted to keep playing.

We're upfront when something isn't for us. A low score isn't a takedown, and a high one isn't a favor. It's just what we thought after playing.
