Arcade racers vs. sims on your phone
Realistic racing sims are a hard sell on a phone. Without a wheel and pedals, all that fidelity gets flattened into tilt and tap. That's why the best mobile racers usually lean arcade, and they're better for it.
Neon Drift Circuit is pure arcade — it's about chaining drifts and riding a boost meter, not modeling tire temperature. The tracks are designed around drift lines, and once the rhythm clicks, a clean lap feels fantastic. That flow is the whole point.
Tilt controls get a bad reputation, but when the sensitivity is tuned well they become invisible fast. I'd actually take good tilt over fiddly on-screen buttons most days. Try both schemes in the settings before you decide you hate one.
If you want simulation depth, honestly, a phone probably isn't the place. But for a quick, loud, satisfying race between meetings? Arcade all the way. Chase your own ghost lap and you'll lose an afternoon.
